Fun Football (7 - 8)

The FC Nelson Winter Fun Football season kicks off Saturday 4th May @Neale Park, starting at 10 am. 

Welcome, all to the 2024 season. We are excited to get our youngest members started in their football journey through FC Nelson.

Fun Football - We allocated players into teams before the start of the season and rotate teams each week to play a different opposition. The two or four teams on the same pitch will do a little combined warm up together before they play their game. The format is going to be 3v3 or 4v4, again to provide many opportunities for everyone to play and get touches on the ball.

• Social & Emotional – lots of interaction, enjoyment
• Technical & Tactical – lots of touches, 1v1s, attacking & defending
• Physical – develop Functional Movement Patterns, more active
• Mental – lots of opportunities for success and for decision making

Each Saturday is divided into 4 components:

• 20% General movement
• 20% Football coordination
• 20% Football Technique
• 40% Small sided football games

Gear

We encourage kids to wear football boots.

Shin pad and socks are mandatory for everyone.

A water bottle should be brought to every session.
