FC Nelson / Nelson College relationship strengthened

We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Nelson College through an updated MOU signed last week.

We as a club will work with Nelson College to provide quality sporting opportunities for young people. The partnership focuses on working together to meet their needs, whether it be aspirational young men or those wanting to take part in social football. It provides them with new and varied opportunities to help them participate in a worthwhile sporting and physical activity and to realise their ambitions. It will continue to encourage participation for all young people, whether aspirational or social.

Features of the MOU are shared teachings, coaching expertise, facilities, equipment and resources to create a sustainable footballing environment within which our young men can develop and excel not just in football but personally and socially.

The relationship also allows both parties to manage young people’s workload and academic/sport balance and develops pathways for young people to continue participating in football outside of school.

Our Director of Football, Davor Tavich will continue as coach of the College 1st XI football team, as well as coaching the FC Nelson Men’s 1st XI.We look forward to continuing this successful relationship!
